How to Know Which Class Your Van Is

The dividing line is 3,500kg Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW). This is the maximum weight of the vehicle including its load, not the kerb weight.

Check the 'Revenue Weight' or 'Gross Vehicle Weight' field. Under 3,500kg = Class B.

Visit vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk, enter your registration, and view the vehicle details including GVW.

Van manufacturer spec sheet
The van's technical specification sheet (often in the driver's handbook or manufacturer website) lists the GVW.
